HANDS & FEET presents This fall HANDS & FEET is raising awareness of the victims of sexual/human trafficking in our community. Human Trafficking has become forefront throughout the world and has gained a lot of exposure. However, the perception was that this was only occurring in Third World countries and not in our own backyard. American children are being bought and sold as sexual slaves. Every year thousands of children are trapped in trafficking. Sexual Human Trafficking is a multi-billion dollar industry that shows no signs of slowing down. And it is happening here in America, in Texas, in Dallas to our children.
Refuge City brings dreams to those whose dreams were shattered and hope to those who have lost hope. Our local, compassionate advocate, Barbara Rodriguez from Refuge City will be our keynote speaker. The Refuge City Outpatient Program brings healing and aid to youth rescued from trafficking and/or sexual exploitation. Learn how to detect signs of youth being trafficked and what opportunities are available for serving the victims of sex trafficking. Come and share a meal with your neighbors!
We are accepting donations of blank paint canvases and art supplies for Refuge City’s art therapy program. If you are unable to bring your donation to the luncheon, a collection bin is available at the Hands & Feet kiosk through the end of October. For more information about Refuge City visit https://refuge-city.org/
