Elder Class of 2023

Brad Carson
Family:
I grew up in Houston. I went to UT for college followed by the University of Houston for my law degree. In 1978 I married Karen and began my career as a bank trust officer in Houston. In 1985 we moved to this area with our young sons, Tyler and Keegan. They now live in Great Falls, Virginia and Valencia, California. They've blessed Karen and me with a grandson, and two granddaughters (with a third granddaughter due in March!!). I retired from my banking career in 2008 and have thoroughly enjoyed travelling, watching baseball, playing golf and spoiling our grandchildren the past twelve years.
Experience at HCC:
Karen and I are both longtime Presbyterians. Around 1991 we transferred our membership from Preston Hollow Presbyterian to the then "Presbyterian Church at Hackberry Creek" which met in the office building a few blocks away on Regent. I soon joined the choir and started a twenty- year period teaching 3rd and 4th grade Sunday school. I switched to teaching adult Sunday school several years ago. I have had the privilege of serving on the Session twice before. Among other HCC related activities; I enjoyed 8 years as an HCC Reading Buddy at Las Colinas Elementary. I participate with Family Promise, and we have been continually involved with HCC's small groups for well over 25 years. HCC has been a good church home to the Carson family throughout all the stages of our lives and I look upon this as an additional opportunity to help our church live into its motto.

Nancy Jenkins-Heiderian
Family:
I was born in Hanover, New Hampshire to parents raised in Burlington, Vermont. We moved to Ann Arbor, Michigan for a few years, then, since the age of 5, I grew up in Tulsa, Oklahoma along with my parents, brother and 3 sisters. We were members of The First Congregational Church in Tulsa initially then, attended The Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church since age 12. My parents are members of the Church Triumphant as of 2014 and 2016.
I attended Vanderbilt University and graduated with a BSN in Nursing. I worked for a few years then, attended the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine in Philadelphia, for four years. Afterward, I did a two year surgical residency in OKC, OK to become a Podiatrist. I am retired now.
I am married to Asa Heidarian, as of 1993 to present. We were married at the Kirk of the Hills Presbyterian Church in Tulsa. Asa is a Bahai. We have two sons, William 25 yrs and Edward 22 yrs. William works presently in Denver, after graduating from SMU and Edward is in college at Texas Tech. Both sons are at home presently & during much of the pandemic.
Experience at HCC:
I looked for a Presbyterian church upon our move from OKC to Coppell in 1993 but, ended up at a Lutheran Church for a couple of years. I then found Hackberry Creek Church and have been here ever since. I eventually became a member after becoming a Christ follower. I have been in BSF about the same length of time, 16 years. HCC has played a major part in my becoming a Christ follower. I thank God that He led me to this wonderful church family.

Grant Bibby
Family:
I grew up going to HCC with my parents and two brothers. I then went to Texas A&M in College Station, where I met my wife, Rachel. When we moved back to Dallas in 2011, we started attending HCC together. We now have two children, Ted and Kate and have been enjoyed watching our family grow as HCC grows.
Experience at HCC:
Ted Benn was my mentor through my confirmation into the church, and it is still so special to me to see him and other members from my childhood remain active in the HCC family. Since being back and involved as an adult I have enjoyed getting to know more members of the congregation. I served as a member of the Security Team back in 2018, which was established to help the church improve safety measures to keep the facility and congregation safe.
