HACKBERRY U - Learning together, One class at a time Our goal at HCC is to make Adult Sunday School the place that everyone wants to be for an hour each Sunday morning. Every quarter we will offer a variety of courses designed to appeal to both new or longtime participants. We invite you to visit a class or two each session, then make a commitment to attend for the remaining weeks. It is our hope that we will all increase in knowledge, mature in faith and grow in fellowship.
HackU Fall Semester
Session 1: September 10 - October 15
1 Samuel (Brad Carson & Ben Woodward) - Room 211
Most of us already know the wonderful stories from this part of Israel's history, but this 6 week class will take a fresh in-depth look at this classic book of the Old Testament. It will be an exciting 6 weeks as Samuel is packed with powerful personalities, romance, and political intrigue, along with spiritual and earthly warfare. A second 6 week course on 2 Samuel will follow later this Fall.
In this six-session Bible study, pastor and bestselling author Jim Cymbala explores the person and work of the Holy Spirit to bring a fresh sense of God’s power to your church and your life. What happens when the Holy Spirit moves powerfully within a church? Through this six-session study you will learn how: • To make room for the Spirit’s action in your life and in your church • God wants to work through your gifts and talents to enable you to do what only he can do • To listen for the voice of the Spirit in prayer and how to apply God’s Word to your life • The Spirit can bring healing to your body, your emotions, and your relationships; how a life lived in the presence of the Spirit can transform the church and the world
Session 2: October 22 - November 26
2 Samuel (Brad Carson & Ben Woodward) - Room 211
The Caregiving Season ( Jon Schreibfeder & Nancy Jenkins-Heidarian) - Room 221
Caring for elderly parents is challenging. It’s a season of life that requires grace and strength that can only come from God. In The Caregiving Season, Jane Daly shares personal caregiving stories, offering practical advice to help you honor your aging parents well and deepen your personal relationship with Christ along the journey.
