In a busy world, it can be tough to get connected with people. Here in the connect section of our website you will find ways to connect with our members in Small Groups, Bible Studies, Prayer Groups, Adult Education classes and Personal Interest Groups. You can also get connected to our email distribution list by sending an email request to firstname.lastname@example.org. By being on the email distribution list, you will receive up to the minute information about events and activities, class schedules, music, and much more.
"And let us consider how we may spur one another on toward love and good deeds. Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another--and all the more as you see the Day approaching." Hebrews 10:24-25
Welcome to Small Group Ministries Through the history of the church, small groups have played a vital role. From the time of Christ to today, the values expressed in Hebrews 10:24-25 of support and encouragement have changed countless lives and helped the church to grow and reach thousands while at the same time giving the closeness of a well knitted community. At the center of why we do small groups is to see changed lives. We see this accomplished through our Vision and Mission.
VISION - Why We Are Here To become a church where nobody stands alone. To see every person, from the core of our church to the ever-growing community, connected in a healthy small group.
On-line Bible Study
On Line Bible Study Our first On-Line study was a huge success. We spent 100 days going through the Bible reading key passages to get a rudamentary overview of the Bible. Now, beginning May 16, 2011, we will be going through a year long Bible study facilitated by the HCC leadership. Entitled the Mariner's Chronological Study, this time all who would like to participate will receive an email letting you know what scripture is on tap for that day. We will have Sunday's off. As before, email responses will be encouraged. If a particular passage touches you in some way, let everyone know your thoughts. It's an encouragement to everyone else. If you find something confusing, ask questions. BY THE WAY, if you don't get started on the first day, no problem, you can join the group anytime. Just send an Email to email@example.com and we will get you signed up to receive the daily email. Here's a link to the material we will be using: https://www.bible.com/
Welcome to the HCC Prayer Line- At HCC, we believe prayer is at the heart of worship. In Prayer, through the Holy Spirit, we seek after and are found by the one true God who has been revealed in Jesus Christ. We listen and wait upon God, call God by name, remember God's gracious acts, and offer ourselves to God. Prayer grows out of the center of a person's life in response to the Spirit. Prayer is shaped by the Word of God in Scripture and by the life of the community of faith. Prayer issues in commitment to join God's work in the world. (Book of Order, pcusa) In prayer we respond to God in many ways, in adoration, in thanksgiving, in confession, in supplication and in intercession. The Prayer Line is set up specifically to address the intercessory aspect of prayer. In intercession, we plead for others, on behalf of others, and for the whole world. This is part of "Caring for Everyone" and the Prayer Line helps our members express their concerns to the body. To express your concerns, email the church leadership via the address below- firstname.lastname@example.org
